The French Legation Museum was the fortunate recipient in 2004 of a $5,000 contribution from the Saunders Family Foundation. The money was designated for the establishment of an endowment to benefit the operation of the French Legation by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. This endowment is managed by the Austin Community Foundation. The decision was made to allow the principal of the endowment to grow to at least $20,000 before any of the interest is used.

The French Legation Committee is selling a pin in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the museum to the public, and the profits from pin sales are designated for the endowment. Your contribution to the endowment will assist in reaching the current goal of $20,000. You can contribute by buying a 50th Anniversary pin and/or making a contribution directly to the endowment.
