Dubois Parlor

In early Austin a private parlor was a rare thing. Many early Austin residents lived in houses with only one or two rooms and socialized at public places like the dining room at Bullock’s Inn. Alphonse Dubois’ house was created with double parlors, large enough to entertain many people at one time. Like the room used as the Robertsons as the master bedroom, this parlor has a decorative mantle and a built in book case hidden by cabinet doors.
